Gordon Boxall
Gordon is a highly experienced and inspirational leader as well as a social entrepreneur. He has developed and directed a successful disability and mental health charity in the United Kingdom from an initial staff team of 6 to 1600, a final year capital and revenue turnover of £50 million, and a strong reputation in the housing, health and social care fields.
In addition to his role as chief executive, Gordon held a number of national positions in the UK and was seconded part time to the Department of Health to facilitate the moving of policy to practice. Some examples include:
- Interim Founder CEO, and subsequently on the board of the Mental Health Providers Forum, now the recognised body to represent the voluntary sector at government level
- Chairperson, Mental Health Helplines Partnership Steering Group
- Chairperson, Missing People Westminster Protocols Group.
Now living full time in New Zealand, Gordon is self-employed and has been working for the Ministry of Health’s Disability Support Service to facilitate business continuity for service providers in the Christchurch area following the devastating earthquake in February 2011.
